On Our Radar at InsureTech Connect 2022
As with every convocation of this flagship conference, the BrandCulture team is excited to see what’s on offer at the InsureTech Connect 2022 event in Las Vegas this week. Our longstanding collaboration across leading InsureTech companies, including Hi Marley and Decision Research Corporation, as well as with innovative carriers such as Plymouth Rock, keep us on our toes and always on the lookout for the most vanguard innovations in this constantly-advancing sector.
We look forward to the key takeaways and new best practices from a dynamic industry which we can then leverage to provide informed advisory to our own insurance technology and other clients in the sector. Of course, the event is as well a great opportunity for us to meet up with clients, friends and colleagues and collaborators both old and new.
Here are the highlights we’re keeping track of this year:
The post-pandemic race to digitize
If insurers learned one thing during the pandemic, it was that previously-manual or time-consuming legacy processes would no longer work for either their organizations or their clients.
Poorly-optimized business methodologies, often entrenched in an organization’s DNA, required a massive disruption as a result of a host of pandemic-related factors, such as stay-at-home requirements for consumers and work-from-home orders for insurance employees.
The logical consequence was a dramatic shift to digital processes, and we’re hoping to see more about how this trend continues to evolve through sessions such as “Digital Business with a Human Touch,” or even how technologies such as blockchain are optimizing the insurance sector.
Climate change responses from the industry
Clearly, climate change is and will continue to be a major influencing factor in how the insurance industry responds to rapidly evolving risk, and InsureTech Connect will have a range of speakers, working sessions, special events, etc. related to the subject.
For example, the strategy consultancy McKinsey & Company will present a session focused on how the transition to net-zero emissions will create significant opportunities for the insurance industry to underwrite societal changes related to climate change. McKinsey is one of the principal sponsors of this year’s event, underscoring how many insurance organizations may require substantial strategic advisory to manage the dramatic shifts in the sector’s landscape.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I)
As experts in organizational culture, BrandCulture is especially keen to see what thought leadership emerges from Insuretech Connect related to diversity, equity and inclusion, a topic area that many sectors are just beginning to incorporate into their business frameworks, and an area of rapid growth among BrandCulture’s service offerings.
We’ll be curious to see what sessions like the more introductory “From Commitment to Action: Activating DEI in the Insurance Industry,” to the more sophisticated “Prioritizing Customer Representation from the Product Development Stage” will bring to the conversation and advance the cause of greater inclusion, equity and diversity for all.
Customer Experience, Retention & Acquisition
BrandCulture believes that a strong organizational brand is the fundamental basis for a positive customer experience, reducing acquisition costs for organizations and improving retention metrics.
Consequently, we’re enthusiastic about seeing so many sessions related to customer experience, especially when paired with digital and other technological capabilities. A sessions like “The Art of Customer Experience Meets the Science of AI & Automation,” promises to deliver welcome insights on how to maximize data-driven customer experiences that keep customers happy and costs down.
